Bi-Monthly Chess Workshops and Tournaments in Bayelsa

Our program in Bayelsa State features bi-monthly events that combine intensive chess training workshops with competitive tournaments. Each edition brings together talented young girls from across the Niger Delta for two days of learning, competition, and empowerment.

The first edition, held on October 10-11, 2025, marked a historic milestone as the inaugural chess tournament in the region dedicated to girls' empowerment. The next edition is scheduled for January 30-31, 2026, building on the success of our previous events.

Comprehensive Training and Competition

Each bi-monthly event features a structured program that includes:

Day 1 focuses on intensive chess training workshops covering fundamental strategies, advanced tactics, and leadership development. Day 2 showcases the skills learned through competitive tournaments where participants can demonstrate their progress and compete for recognition.

Our approach integrates chess with STEM education, helping girls develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills that extend beyond the board.

Community Impact and Growth

The response from the Bayelsa community has been extraordinary. Local leaders, parents, and educators have embraced our bi-monthly events as a catalyst for educational innovation and gender equality in sports.

Since our first edition in October 2025, we've seen growing participation and enthusiasm. The upcoming January 2026 event promises to build on this momentum, welcoming new participants and continuing to inspire the next generation of female chess champions.
