Organisation overview
The fast facts.
Promoting Queens is a US-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit using chess to build confident, strategic girls and women — everywhere, regardless of background.
We have reached over 1,500 girls and women across Nigeria and Kenya through entirely self-funded programs. We are seeking our first institutional funding to scale what already works.
Theory of change
Why chess. Why girls. Why now.
A girl who learns chess learns something bigger than chess. She learns that she can figure things out. That she can plan. That she can win. Once she believes in herself, we want the world to have no choice but to believe in her too.
Chess access
Free programs in schools, communities, and online.
Cognitive growth
Strategic thinking, focus, and confidence.
Leadership
Self-belief, resilience, and voice.
Economic mobility
Tech careers via the ChessNCode pipeline.
Multiplier
Scholars fund the next girl on placement.
Program summary
What we run and where.

Online Programs

ChessNCode
Active scholars in tech training. An income-share model funds the next scholar upon placement.
Financial transparency
Budget overview.
Promoting Queens has operated on founder investment and community support since founding. We are seeking our first institutional grant funding to scale programs that have already proven their reach and model.
We are committed to full transparency with institutional partners. Detailed financials and budget breakdowns are available on request.
